The last couple weeks have been busy ones. After getting back from Chile, went straight to Mt. Hood to ride with the Sweep stake winners for Honeycomb and representing the Collection. Then off to Ohio for one of the stops on the flow rider tour (standing wave) at Kalahari Resort in Sandusky. I would ride with the competitors then do a signing. A week later I was in Alabama at the Waterville water park in Gulf Shores doing the same thing. I have a couple short clips that I hope to post on go211.com with in the next week Internet service provided. I am now in Australia doing a few comps. Qualified 2nd in slopestyle at the Ripcurl Pro straight off the plane and hoping finals go on tomorrow weather permitting. The Australian Fructis open is next week. |

Hey all, I hope you have been enjoying your summer, seeing as fall seems to be right around the corner already! Anyways, I wanted to give you an update on Andy over in Australia right now. He just finished up an event called the Granier Fructis Australian Open, put on by Burton. It is a 4 star TTR event. He placed 4th yesterday in the slopestyle after Chase bumped him off the podium last second with a cab 900 to backside 1260 stomped. Today (which is yesterday australian time!) he placed 1st in the halfpipe event. he won by a full 10 points and was able to do a victory lap of big straight airs for his 3rd run. The pipe was super soft giving everyone problems with speed, but we all know Andy has a superman cape regardless of conditions and was able to point it and stay smooth, of course catching bigger air than anyone else! Mason Aguirre, Lui Vito, Mitrani brothers, Torstein, Kazu are just a few of the guys he was up against. The top 3 were Mitch Brown 3rd, Loui Vito 2nd, and (defending champ) was mr. andy finch in 1st :) Such a great way for Andy to start out his season and come back from an injury, especially after not riding a halfpipe for 7 months. Looks like he is well on his way to get that TTR Title he is shooting for this year!! Amber |
