I always enjoy going back to Mt. Hood. Doesn’t matter if we continue to get older because that place makes you feel like a kid. The kind of kid that doesn’t stop until completely asleep in the back of the car on the way home.
I spent 2 sessions at Windells Snowboard Camp guest coaching. Though it was as hot as Hood gets, it was also as good as Hood gets. Windells park, pipe and rails were going off. Kids were going hucktastic into the airbag which was fun to watch and do. Windells added more concrete for the skaters and the dirt jumps for bikes were going off. There was even a mtn bike crew building some crazy ladders that I won’t touch.
In between sessions the surf was going off. The same swell that killed a couple people in southern California was hitting the Oregon coast strong. Short Sands was the best I have ever seen it. A couple other locations were going off and seriously made my summer for me. My wife made it up on the in-between so we went and did a bunch of mtn biking on the way home. On the last night we camped in Bend and a thunderstorm came in hard, Lighting and thunder every 2 seconds. An awesome end to a rad trip!

Middle of July and we can still ride all the way to the parking lots. Half way through my trip and it already feels like a full week. Body is filling it for sure. Ride for 5 hours, skate till dinner and wake up early to do it again!

Windell’s has it going on right now with a massive step up looking jump (really a table), but super lofty and no compression. Got in a sunset session with a skier film crew that

was gracious enough to let me join them. Little tail wind, clear skies with some California smoke to give a little color. With some shots in the bag, I now can cruise the rest of the week and just feed off the energy from the mini shreds.

Nations Foundation crew is up here too. We are getting some of the last shots and interviews for the movie “ONEYEAR”. Also making plans for the following movie, keeping it a surprise. Gonna be a good vibe!
